Sunday, October 18 - A good time was had by all as Darren and Lora helped me decorate the house for my favorite event of the year -- HALLOWEEN!!! To get things off to a good start, I served my latest drink creation, "John's Ginger Slosh" while Lora made Oyster Shooter Cocktails (see recipes, below). After we had all got nice and toasty, Darren and I decorated while Lora was "just resting my eyes" -- for 4 hours!!! After all the decorating, we had a spooky dinner by candle light, some Halloween cake from BiLo's, and watched the new "X-Files" movie on the projection system. It was an evening to remember!
1 Jigger Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/2 Jigger grenadine syrup
Jamaican Ginger Beer
Mix the rum and grenadine together in a high ball. Add 3 crushed ice cubes, then fill the remainder of the glass with ginger beer. Top with a cherry.
1 large warm steamed oyster
1/2 Jigger shrimp cocktail sauce
1 Jigger Sake or Vodka (we prefer Sake)
1/2 Jigger Bloody Mary Mix
Dash Worcestershire Sauce
Mix all the liquids together in a small glass, then drop the oyster in.
